Wishcard Technologies, the operator of a digital gift card platform, has further expanded its market position in the first nine months of 2022. With the brands Wunschgutschein in Germany and Wishcard in the European market, the company distributes gift products with flexible redemption options. On the path to becoming the No.1 gift card in Europe, the German pioneer in the multi-gift card business continues to grow and has attracted new investors to its business model. Alongside existing investor Oakley Capital, EMZ Partners and IK Investment Partners are joining as two additional investors to support the growth goals for the coming years. To accelerate the expansion strategy, Wishcard Technologies is strengthening its management team with Dr. Andreas Betzer. The native of the Palatinate region, together with COO Verena Argauer, forms the new leadership duo at Wishcard Technologies.
Industry Expertise with a Trade Network
Dr. Andreas Betzer has led companies such as Miles & More International and Payback for many years, bringing over 30 years of international experience in retail and digital platforms. The Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur began his career at Lufthansa, where he played a role in the early stages of the „Miles & More“ customer loyalty program as a corporate strategist. Shortly after its launch, Andreas Betzer assumed the role of CEO at Miles & More International, guiding the company through a significant growth phase nationally and internationally. Following this success story, Andreas Betzer joined the Payback management team. As a sales expert, he contributed to the transformation of Payback into one of the most successful loyalty programs worldwide and supported the company during the largest M&A transaction in the digital economy in Germany at that time.
